Myths abound about the role of creativity in leadership. On May 8th the Shanghai American Center welcomes Leadership Strategist and Life Consultant Byron Washington who will dispel misconceptions and offer practical frameworks to unlock leadership and creativity. For example, some people assume they are not creative. Others believe that as a leader, they themselves must be more creative. Some companies look for a secret ingredient to leadership and creativity. In reality, everyone is capable of being creative. Companies like Google, Apple, and Disney innovate because their environment fosters creativity. Join Byron to practice building “creative confidence”  for your own professional life.

Byron Washington 曾在美国四大会计师事务所之一的德勤工作，并有管理非营利机构、教育机构和多个美国联邦政府机构的咨询项目的经验。他的专业领域包括：领导力发展与培训、变革管理、风险分析、文化能力和组织转型等。他是播客节目The Leadership Ledge Podcast的主持人，也是一位出版作家和导师。Byron目前是南加州大学组织变革和领导力的在读博士。他拥有普林斯顿大学的公共政策/国际关系硕士学位和温斯顿 - 塞勒姆州立大学的金融学学士学位。

Byron Washington has worked for Deloitte, LLP one of the “Big Four” multinational accountancy firms in the United States and managed consulting projects for non-profits, educational institutions and various U.S. Federal agencies. His areas of expertise include: leadership development/training, change management, risk analytics, cultural competency and organizational transformation.  He is the host of “The Leadership Ledge Podcast,” a published author and a mentor. Byron is currently a candidate for a doctorate in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California. He holds a master’s degree in Public Policy/International Relations from Princeton University and a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Winston-Salem State University.
